Our Story

More Than Just a Farm Stand

Mallory Ann’s started long before there was ever a farm stand.

Mal was my best friend—the kind of person who was always in your corner. She was kind, hardworking, incredibly supportive, and genuinely cared about people. She was a nurse and was in school to become a family nurse practitioner, which suited her perfectly.

A trip to Italy together ended up changing the way I thought about food. We ate every carb in sight (evidence pictured), yet somehow felt better than we did eating the same things at home. I came back curious about why and started paying much more attention to ingredients, where our food came from, and what I was bringing into my own kitchen.

That curiosity turned into making more things from scratch, learning everything I could, and spending a lot more time in the kitchen. Mal was always one of the first people cheering me on. She kept telling me I should do something with it and build a business around that passion for ingredients that nourish.

We always talked about owning a business together someday. Funny enough, baking wasn’t even the original plan—we were going to open a laundromat called The Happy Hamper.

We lost Mal on September 15, 2024 at the age of 24 in a tragic accident.

Mallory Ann’s is my way of carrying a little bit of her forward. I want what we build here to reflect so much of what was so inspiring about her: kindness, generosity, hard work, caring about people, and doing things with heart. Today, that looks like food made from scratch, ingredients chosen with intention, and supporting local farms and businesses whenever possible.

Our Little Stand

Today, Mallory Ann’s is a weekend self-serve farm stand in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, filled with naturally fermented sourdough, from-scratch baked goods, seasonal favorites, local goods, flowers, and whatever else we’re excited to share that week.

I’m Heather, the owner and baker behind Mallory Ann’s, but none of this happens by myself. I’m incredibly lucky to have amazing friends and family who show up, lend a hand, encourage my ideas, and help make all of this possible.

And then there’s our community. Every preorder, visit, shared post, kind message, and person who comes back for another loaf has helped this little farm stand grow into more than I ever imagined.

Just Getting Started

As we grow, I hope to expand into wholesale and eventually open Mallory Ann’s Café, while staying true to what started all of this: good food, ingredients that nourish, hard work, kindness, and community.

And someday, I hope Mallory Ann’s can give back to the same community that has given so much to us. If we can build something that keeps Mal’s memory alive, brings people together, and does some good along the way, that’s exactly what I want Mallory Ann’s to be.

Thank you for being part of it.
